(a) Distance - time graph of an object:

    * The gradient of a distance - time graph gives the speed of particles.

                   

(b) Speed - time graph of an object:

     * The gradient of a speed-time graph gives the rate of change of speed of a particle.

     * The area under the graph represents the distance travelled.

     * Positive gradient represents acceleration.

     * Negative gradient represents retardation or deceleration.
